Rewrapping native MXF format to AVI for Pinnacle Studio

We would like to work with Pinnacle Studio HD Ultimate v15. Our Panasonic camcorder stores footage in MXF format. We failed to import MXF to Pinnacle.

Avid claims that Pinnacle Studio? HD Ultimate v.15 makes it easy to edit like a pro with intuitive new features, ultra-fast performance, and a massive content collection. New features include, Better AVCHD support (v14 did not handle large AVCHD videos with great stability), DivX Plus HD (.MKV) Support, Archive/Restore, Intel Media SDK integration, plus new added content such as more effects, more transitions from Hollywood FX and a greater variety of menus. Our concern is that whether it added native support for MXF clips or not. We would like to work with Pinnacle Studio HD Ultimate v15. Our Panasonic camcorder stores footage in MXF format. We failed to import them to Pinnacle. We imported from "P2-dvcpro25" folder, the original file structure download from our camera, but the Pinnacle said "No items in the folder" as shown below.
We checked "All compatible media files" listed in Pinnacle Studio v15, while .mxf is not there.

All compatible media files of Pinnacle Studio HD Ultimate:
*.2vuy, *.3g2, *.3gp, *.ac3, *.asf, *.avi, *.bmp, *.dif, *.dv, *.dvd, *.dvsd, *.gif, *.jpeg, *.m1v, *.m2t, *.m2ts, *.m2v, *.m4a, *.m4v, *.mkv, *.mod, *.mov, *.mp2, *.mp3, *.mp4, *.mpa, *.mpeg, *.mpg, *.mts, *.pcd, *.pcx, *.png, *.psd, *.skm, *.tga, *.tif, *.tod, *.ts2, *.wav, *.wma, *.wmf, *.wmv, *.xfo, *yuv

We've tried several converter tools to convert the MXF file to AVI format, which we could then edit. However, the converted file quality was much worse than the MXF file. Finally we ended on with Pavtube MXF Converter, which produced AVI files without visible quality loss. Following is our workflow.
